TrueFlight Shield cut feathers are the finest turkey feathers available anywhere. Bright colors and uniform pre-ground quills for consistent fletching dozen to dozen. TrueFlight Feathers are proudly made in the USA for the best in quality and availability. Shield cut has the consistent height of roughly 5/8" in the cut length 5" or 4". Shield cut in 5" is the single most popular feather length and cut in traditional archery. Shield cut has slightly more surface area compared to parabolic cut, which will make arrows fletched with shield feathers a touch more stable in flight than those fletched with parabolic cut feathers. Parabolic cut is a little bit quieter in flight as wind has less surface area to grab on too. Available in Left Wing or Right Wing in Mini Barred. Sold by the dozens, 6-pack, 50-pack, or the 100s. Please specify. What Wing Feather to Shoot? It is an old belief that Right handed (RH) shooter must shoot Left wing (LW) so the arrow spins away from the riser on release. This is not the case. I am a bow and arrow builder I really like the traditional look of these feathers. They are tough and they fly well.

After watching my Blazer vane fletched arrows make only a few revolutions covering 20 yards while target shooting, I decided to go old school and re-fletch my arrows with feathers. The local Archery shops wanted $ to $ an arrow to fletch with feathers. I ordered a jig and these feathers and have been very well pleased. The height of the feathers are 5/8", same as on my blazer vanes.… read more They are lighter, well made, and with a right helical fletch; made my groups with 100 grain Thunderhead broadheads shrink dramatically. I will definitely be buying more of these feathers.

It was time to refeather some arrows, I bought another brand at a local store that did not live up to expectations. I stripped them and ordered these which are far superior to the initial brand I bought. These have held up very well, I tend to use the same 5-6 arrows until I tear up a nock or feathers. These feathers have held up very well after several dozen of uses on each… read more arrow. They still look great and are attractive on the Easton xx-75 arrows that I am using.

I'm trying to figure the actual weight of my arrows. They're 31" at 9.8 gpi w/ a 105g broadhead and a 75g insert, now this adds up to 483.8g. What I can't account for is the weight of nock, feathers, and glue/tape. So here's my question, have you found t

When you buy by the dozen, does that mean there are enough feathers to fletch a dozen arrows, or does it mean that there are 12 feathers (meaning only enough to fletch 4 arrows)?

I need feathers for my recurve bow I am right handed so what feathers do I get Right or left?
RW and LW will not matter as far as arrow flight is concerned.

RW and LW will not matter as far as arrow flight is concerned. One will cause the arrow to rotate clockwise and the other counter clockwise. Since the arrow will not start spinning for 5 to 10 feet there are no issues with clearance or the arrow rolling one way or another off of the string.

Right and left feather offset does't matter with the archer being left or right handed. Just make sure that if you are going to get feather get all left, or all right, and fletch them accordingly (right feathers with either a right offset or right helical). If you are only going to fletch an offset, I would recommend a right offset because I have heard that fletching with a left offset can cause the arrows tips to loosen mid flight. It not that big of a deal, but would save you from having to tighten the arrow tip each time you shoot.

I'm new to traditional myself and I am learning this as well. I have been told by my local pro-shop you can shoot either left or right handed feathers. Since I started out with the right hand feathers, that's what I continue to buy. I do plan on buying some left hand just to experiment with
