True North Waterborne Acrylic Cresting Paints are the industry's best Eco-Friendly arrow cresting paints. 100% waterborne high-gloss enamel exterior grade cresting paint. They are very tough and durable with low odor and VOC. True North paints clean up with soap and water. Thin with water too! They... dry in approximately an hour. Sold by the each in 1 ounce jars. Available in black, white, yellow, feather blue, feather green, red, pink, purple, dark blue, tan, silver, gold, hot pink, lime, bright orange, metallic red, metallic blue, metallic green, metallic purple, vintage light green, vintage black cherry, vintage sunset, orange, vintage od green, vintage gray, vintage ivory, vintage tangerine, gloss clear, and satin clear. Please specify. 100% waterborne technology Very low odor and no VOC High hiding, great coverage and flow, adheres to any arrow (wood/aluminum/carbon) Very tough and durable High gloss exterior-grade finish Cleans up with soap and water Always clean carbon shafts prior to cresting or crown dipping. True North products work with wood, carbon, and aluminum shafts. Carbon and aluminum shafts require the True North Carbon Primer. We recommend a white base coat to help colors stand out; especially for the Florescent colors and Hot Pink. There is no need to clear dip over but it is recommended. Add water to achieve personal brushing desire. Usually dries in an hour, much faster with thin coats. Make certain you allow plenty of dry/cure time. If you try to re-coat right away or overlap colors you may experience cracking or other defects. These cresting paints are NOT like lacquer (instant drying) and the odorless and eco-friendly needs more dry time/cure time. It is recommended that you do not mix True North Arrows LLC products with other manufacturer's products.

Excellent and quality cresting paint, easy to use and durable. I lost an arrow and found it two years later, buried in the leaves and the cresting paint was intact, and arrow ready for use, after sharpening broadhead!
The strongest bond I have found yet!

I very much look forward to every time I finish my cedar arrows using True North products. With no harmful odors.These paints and finishes have superior adhesive and durability properties once fully cured.More so than lacquer or any of the mediums I have used to crest and finish arrows in the past. I found this paint has characteristics all it's own, unlike anything out there but… read more in fast time can be mastered . I use Ducco for fletching on True North gloss finish and is the strongest bond I have found yet. True North products is all I will use to finish my arrows with . Hope it's around for a long time.

Almost need a cresting lathe to use. Covers well, especially the silver. Difficult to balance getting good coverage with flowing off the brush.

This has been the best cresting paint I have used in over 25 years of making my own arrows. Used with the True North Crown Dip paints, I have found these paints to be fool proof. The learning curve was very short and after just a few arrows, I had the paint going on smooth and easy. I do use light color (yellow and white) crown dip first.Drying time takes a little longer than some… read more paints, but not a problem. Give it a try.

Not opaque enough for good coverage on dark or even light colors...better off with very fast drying opaque model paints. Expensive, it's just plain acrylic paint !! Attached photo flu's were finished finally with model paints in one shot color sequences.

Did not use all colors so some may be better than others. Sons arrows I painted the( thick not so easy) black paint first, then the silver not much of a problem. My arrows: silver first then some overlap with black...Troubles started to show up four arrows now five arrows into ...stop! yes as the arrows started to dry a reaction happened the metallic in the silver caused the black… read more to wrinkle and crack showing silver through the black. By this stage of arrow building you are many, many hours in what a disappointment. Recommend you have an old blank shaft and test all procedures prior to starting.

This is EXACTLY what I have been hoping for. A non-toxic, no fumes, easy clean up cap dip and cresting paint that has excellent flow and coverage. The plus is you can use the True North clear finish OVER the cresting with no running of even the finest striping. They offer as many colors as one needs to dip and crest great looking arrows without the fumes. Clean up is a snap, warm… read more water on the brushes and a wet soapy rag for drips on the equipment or tabletop. I met the product maker at the Kalamazoo Traditional Archery Expo 2012 and given his background in paint and his explanation of his products, I couldn't wait to try them. Great products!
