I've been using this product since about May of this year. I've made 5 dozen POC and doug fir shafts since that time. This product is everything it says it is. Simple clean up, no odor, and makes brilliantly color shafts. For POC I find that three or more coats is necessary to get the color I want. I live in the TX panhandle and the dry air here makes the drying process go very… read more fast, I can easily do 3 coats in a few hours, then let dry over night and I'm ready to seal. I find that doug fir soaks up the stain quite a bit more, I did two coats on my doug fir shafts, but could have gotten away with one coat. After the shafts dry over night, I buff them with a green scotch bright scour pad and then use gasket lacquer. Until recently I've always been intimidated by all the different products for staining and sealing arrows. The low entry price and easy use of the True North stains and the gasket lacquer has me turning out arrows that I am very pleased with, and I have very little experience in arrowsmithing. If you have not tried True North stains, do yourself a favor and give them a go!
