Love this system!
Really love this system! Came from a Howatt one piece longbow. Love being able to adjust my bow to my arrows. Allows me a broader range of tuning. I'm able to use arrows I might not have been able to tune to my one piece. Configured with 50lb foam core DAS longbow limbs. The setup is laser accurate and very smooth. I'm just going to sell my Howatt. This bow shoots so well… read more for me that my search is over. Very satisfied with this purchase!
Tough and accurate!
This riser was extremely adjustable. I really loved the ability to change hand grips, poundage as needed as well as many other adjustments. The only real drawback to this bow is that it is extremely heavy. I would not take this bow on a backpacking hunting trip.
Best 21" on the market!
I've owned several DAS 21" Risers over the years and have had great success with all of them. I used a Nat Gear one for two years at the World Championships. If you want a bow that can be truly tuned to just you specifically, this is the one to buy. The new improvements make an already great riser fantastic! Stable, completely adjustable and quiet. Its the best 21" riser available… read more today.
Great Shooter - Not so pretty!
Hands down one of the quietest and solid feeling bow I have ever shot! Exceptional in that regard. The fit and finish leaves you wanting! I have seen far better fit and finish on ILF Risers from Win & Win and Fivics in the same price range. Screws and fittings are steel and in a humid environment will rust! Burs on a number of the holes drilled into the riser! Paint shows… read more a bit of orange peel in the sight window. I bought the bow to shoot barebow and believe I will be pleased with it in the long run. 3Rivers needs to step up their Quality Control and makes some improvements to deserve a 5 Star Rating.
Best System Ever...beats ILF Hands Down
Mainly Field Archery - 3D and Paper Should be excellent for hunting too
Potential but mine was less than good
Potentially nice riser but came with some flaws. I should have returned it, but I went ahead and shot it. There is a scratch to the bare metal in one of the limb pockets. There is residue (adhesive) on the side of the riser by one of the limb pockets. One of the grip screw holes is mis-threaded. Mine came with a bare metal plunger screw instead of the black one shown in the picture,… read more ugly. I might recommend it, but with reservations...
17" Das Dalaa Riser
I have come full circle in my quest for the perfect riser. 2 Yrs ago had a 17" Dalaa riser and sold it. I've tried every ILF/mutiple lengths/Das (21")riser with every conceivable limb combo since and I'm back to the Dalaa 17" riser. I have the Dalaa med. carbon foam LB limbs on this riser making a 60" #45 bow. Quiet, fast, light and accurate. My only wish is that the natural gear… read more camo was still available as I prefer it to the lost camo. The thing that sets this riser apart is its geometery. Most others have less deflex and I can say the deflex is perfect on this riser making for a much more forgiving bow!
My first DAS
I have shot owned several recurves and this is by far my favorite. Last year my uncle loaned me his Dalaa to take on a hunt. I didn't get a shot on that hunt but I put a lot of arrows through that bow in preparation. when I tried to go back to shooting my own bows I couldn't believe the difference and began trying to sell my previous bows in order to buy this one. I have not… read more been disappointed. After a little tuning, I'm shooting the tightest groups (off a traditional bow) of my life. I will be shooting my first 3-D tournament with this bow next weekend and look forward to beating my brother with it. Now if only I can get a few deer to walk by this fall.
Great Riser but pricey
Just got a DX5 riser. I have the riser it's designed was base off of and the DAS connection is a vast improvement. My only complaint is the price...based on amount of machining, simple design, and raw stock used, this riser should not cost more than the 17" Dalaa, and in fact should be nearly [$]+ less. I'd for sure recommend it to a friend, but only if they can get a good… read more deal used.
Dalaa 21" riser
Got my Dalaa 21" riser in the mail today. Very nice riser, clean and simple. I made a string and plugged my ILF longbow limbs in and started shooting at ten yards in the garage right away. I love it, going to the range tonight to shoot and show off my new custom bow.
I use the 2.0 grip after trying the Medium for several years, it felt better. I am able to get better back tension and bone on bone alignment with the bow arm. Tried a Torque free Jaeger grip designed by Kisk Lee and it is a high wrist grip. The low wrist 2.0 gives me stronger feel during the shot. It may change your look a bit but a ew shots will fix that. I just rebuilt my from from the ground up after 28 years of erratic shooting. I am shooting the 2.0 Ultra Low Grip on both my 17" and 21" Dalaa riser. It is similar to my Hummingbird Long bow and is somewhat similar to the locator grip on my Howard Hill Longbow. I am 74 years old and the Low Wrist Grip helped me cure 15 year of Target Panic along with a Formaster trainer and shooting everyday for five months. Both Dalaa Risers are Longbows by the way. Picture is my 17" riser with the low grip. Shots were at 25 yards.
Yes will make a nice 62" bow on long limbs or a 64" with x-longs limbs.
At this time, there is not. We do have 1 left Copper DX5 Riser left in stock Right Hand only
I don't have any Buffalo recurves around the shop anymore, but comparing to a Hoyt Satori (model that replaced the Buffalo) I'd say a low grip is my personal recommendation to what would be most similar to that grip.
You can use any of the DAS line limbs, recurve or longbow.
I would recommend a 17" riser for your draw length it will be more forgiving and depending on the limbs more versatile .
The DAS 15 cannot be converted to ILF. Only the 17 and 19s can use the DAS ILF Limb Pads.
As I understand it it requires switching out the mounting plates on the riser. Warren

Depending on the regulations of the competition, you should be able to to use any of the DAS set-up combinations.
