Arrow-Fix is an adjustable tool that can repair broken 11/32" wood arrows. The 5/16" Centering Socket and 23/64" Centering Socket are sold separately. Arrow-Fix enables repairs with little material and time involved, nearly anywhere along the arrow shaft. Arrow-Fix is a tool which utilizes a V-block... support method so that the wood arrow can easily and precisely be repaired. The main body of Arrow-Fix consists of a robust aluminum alloy. To insure that the Arrow-Fix drills into hardwoods, such as locust, bamboo, Osage etc., the manufacturer has designed a special geometric conical drill bit which has been milled from HSS performance tool steel. (HSS is a German high quality standard for tool steel). The Arrow-Fix taper tool is made from the same alloy as the Arrow-Fix. The blades are made from high performance tool steel for a lasting edge. The Taper Tool can be adjusted for 5/16", 11/32", and 23/64" diameters (5/16" and 23/64" centering sockets sold separately). The conical repaired area is very minimal in depth and the visible repaired joint would be around 1/25th of an inch, meaning that the needed quantity of wood and glue is at a minimum. The Arrow-Fix method changes the spine (the flexibility) of the shaft only slightly. Extensive tests have shown no negative reactions to the shafts' durability or precision even after several repairs. The Arrow-Fix method spares wood taken away from the shaft during repair and cuts down considerably on glue use. With conventional means, shaft repair involves applying large amounts of glue to a lengthy sharp angled splice joint running along a portion of the arrow shaft. It is not possible for shear force to damage an Arrow-Fix repaired spot. Arrow-Fix is based on a conical joint principle where no shear force can occur. The conventional method of repair can sometimes not withstand the shear force caused upon impact, thus resulting in breakage upon the repaired area. The time spent and the glue used at the repair bench is minimal with the Arrow-Fix at hand. Arrow-Fix will pay for itself only after a few repairs! Paid For Itself In One Week
I wasn't sure how this was going to work when I bought it. I make my own arrows and over the years I have collected a large box of broken ones, most of which were in many pieces, and some of which I had only shot a few times. The fletching on the majority of them was still in new condition. After all the work I put into them I couldn't bear to throw any of them away. I even… read more tried various methods in the past to patch some of the more promising prospects back to together, but without much luck. But within a week of receiving this device (plus the 23/64 centering socket) I had 3 dozen arrows put back together from my box of broken pieces. All of them fly just as straight and true as they did when they were first made. The repair joints seem to be just as strong, if not stronger, than the rest of the shaft. I love this Arrow Fix. It is one of the best investments in tools I ever made.
Exceptional Construction and Performance
In my case, I would need to fix 18 arrows to recoup the cost of this tool and the additional 5/16 center point. I waited 6 months in hopes the price would come down. It didn't. I finally ordered one before the Euro crisis had a chance to up the price. Now that I've used the tool, I have no regrets about the purchase. Once the tool was in my possession, I fully grasped the cost… read more of the tool. It is solid, built like a tank, and is machined to incredible accuracy. The designers seem to have thought of everything. I bought it specifically for fixing wood arrows. I didn't grasp the concept of the taper tools. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has nock and point taper tools for 5/16, 11/32, and 23/64 shafts. The taper tools are independent of the center point tool. The taper tool blades are designed for replacement. So, in addition to having a way to fix broken arrows, I will never need to buy separate diameter taper tools again. The instructions don't have pictures. I took a couple hours reading the instructions and disassembling / reassembling the tool to understand how it works. My first arrow repair took about 30 minutes because I wanted to go very slow. I used my variable speed Dewalt 1/2" drill in my bench vice to turn the tool at a speed similar to a drill press. As with forstner bits, going too fast can ruin the conical bit. I was absolutely amazed at the precision cone it created in the shaft. I fitted the two shaft pieces together and was amazed at how precisely they fit. They fit securely and didn't want to come apart, even without the glue. I placed three drops of Gorilla Wood Glue into the cone and joined the pieces. The fit is so precise that I could feel back pressure from the glue trying to escape. Gentle pressure and continued twisting set the pieces with a perfect small bead of glue at the seam. The pieces were secure even after just being joined. I didn't have to worry about the pieces separating while I placed them into the Arrow Fix prism with the bands. My second arrow repair took 15 minutes from start to placement in the prism. The tool is pricey, but it does what it advertises. And, it does it very well! Final tip: clean and oil your conical bit after each repair. Treat that bit like it is a precious jewel, and it should last for quite a while.
Great Tool
This is a great tool. It does in fact splice arrows extremely strongly. I've spliced nearly a hundred arrows in the past three months. Those that have broken did not break at the splice. When you chuck this into a drill, go slow so you don't split the arrow shaft. It works great with Gorilla glue. Make sure you use adequate glue. If you don't use enough, especially on the tip… read more of the splice, it will be weak. I highly recommend this tool. It is extremely well made and the tolerances are tight.
That would be a drill mount adapter i'm not sure where one could purchase that item I would check hardware stores.
The Arrow Fix will work just fine with hickory shafts as is. There are upgrades to a few of the parts that come with it, but we do not yet carry those.
This kit comes with everything to repair the arrow (tool and conical drill bit), but it does not come with the bit that allows you to install nibb style points.
There may be a video available at some point. I will pass along the request.
This only comes with the conical bit.

This tool is not designed to be resharpened.
You dont sharpen it, it's not designed to be resharpened and should never need to be. Excellent tool that works extremely well, you wont be dissappointed.
They do not offer such an item at this time.
No it does not. But, if you contact the manufacturer in Germany, they do offer a T Tip drilling insert that will allow you to drill a centered hole for around 15 Euros. Maybe you could use it as a pilot hole and drill or ream to the desired diameter.
Right out of the box the Arrow-Fix will repair arrows and taper both point and nock tapers.

Yes we stock extra center pieces for that tool.
The Arrow-Fix tool does not come with any adhesive. We recommend using a two part epoxy, like the AAE epoxy. That will give you the strongest hold.
