Armguard is very well made from initial impressions. The straps are easy to adjust and easy to put on. It is made from a thicker leather than armguards I have had in the past and easily protects from string slap. The aluminum brace keeps the armguard stiff in the center where it follows your arm. I would say it is not the best option. It is a very good armguard, but I am 6'1" and it fits me perfectly. I think it may be to long for their arm. Unfortunately, I have not purchased any arm guards for someone in that age group for some time, and thus can't provide any suggestions to help with your search.
